Sophie Thomson visited the Nhill Community Garden with some of our Karen ladies (24 March, 2023)

Yesterday I was given a tour of the Nhil Community Garden VIC by some of the local Karen community ladies who have large plots there. This AMAZING #communitygarden was bulging with crops of taro, sugarcane, okra, pumpkins, beans, loofa and long melon (same family as my beloved #newguineabeans) as well as more conventional crops like coriander, basil, cucumber, bok choy, brassicas, eggplant and garlic. I also popped into Paw Po Products shop in the town, an initiative of the Nhill Learning Centre where ladies learn English and skills such as sewing and floristry.
